Edward Swift:

Edward Swift was born in the Big Thicket National Preserve of East Texas, near the Bayou Country of Louisiana. He is an artist, sculptor, and novelist whose work is influenced by growing up in a haunted landscape and dark forests. He grew up near the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation and is related to the tribe and has been influenced by its customs, ceremonial objects and the various ways of representing human and animal forms. Materials that the artist commonly uses for his works are wood, wire, ceramics and papier-mâché from the local recycled newspaper, La Attention SMA. He lived for many years in New York City where he exhibited his work at the 2/20 Gallery owned by Miguel Herrera. He currently lives in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and shows his work in Galería 8A at Fábrica La Aurora.
